Poverty in Jamaica

"Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights. Get up, stand up. Don't give up the fight". Hello, welcome to our blog! In this blog, we will talk about the issue of poverty in Jamaica. We will address the problems and the effects of poverty and how other nations can help.
The reason we chose to talk about such a complex topic is because as authors of this blog, we feel very strongly about helping those affected by poverty in Jamaica. The majorities of Americans are middle class citizens and are blessed with the necessities to live; however, poverty is shown so much to us through education and the media. Since mostly everyone has heard or seen of poverty, you would think more and more people would take a stand on it, but they haven't. This blog is to enlighten people of poverty and to show all of the errors our society has made and how it can and should be fixed.
On the right, there are links where we discuss the topic. The overview, which speaks about the history of poverty in Jamaica and addresses one specific human right being disobeyed,  and the links that relate poverty to Oedipus, Persepolis, Thing Fall Apart, and Night. The time to help the people of Jamaica is now! Our Call to Action page to the right, allows for all of us to work together in the effort to provide aid and care to the poverty stricken Jamaicans.

  1. You have a great hook to lure viewers into your blog. I think it was a good idea to use a quote from Bob Marley, a Jamaican, to help grab the attention of readers. This page is a great representation of what will be talked about in your blog.
